Detroit Free Press: Ellis: Pistons Would Seriously Consider Josh Smith for Rip Hamilton Trade

A status update on the unreality of Josh Smith being traded...

Vince Ellis of The Detroit Free Press gets paid for writing something that would get mocked on a message board:
The Pistons like Smith -- front office personnel speak openly of getting players who can play above the rim and Smith fits the bill. But it's doubtful they will be able to make any major financial commitments with the team's sale still pending. When the sale becomes official, the Pistons would seriously consider a Hamilton-for-Smith swap as it appears Hamilton needs a change of scenery.
Detroit would also presumably seriously consider trading Rip Hamilton for Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, or any other player rumored to be on the block who is both much younger and much better than Hamilton, who is also hurt, having missed last night's Pistons loss and is questionable for tonight's game.

REALLY? Who wouldn't want Rip Hamilton and his contract on their team? Let's take this from hypothetical right up to the GM's door today. What say you?

I don't like Josh jacking up the long twos, but I really don't like the idea of JP or Collins getting more playing time... I mean who would take JSmooves spot?
