NBA Playbook: The Hawks Struggling Against The Pick-and-Roll

Sebastian Pruiti looks at three fourth-quarter possessions wherein the Hawks tried to defend the pick-and-roll three different ways and failed each time. All in about 90 seconds of game time. My take-away: It's hard to defend Dwight Howard plus four shooters when you lack a guard that can fight through a ball-screen. Orlando might ultimately miss the shot, but they've gained the upper hand in the possession the moment Howard puts body to Hawk.
