OTHER PERSPECTIVES
: By the Horns, Blog a Bull

PREVIOUSLY, THE CHICAGO BULLS...have lost seven of eight games, most recently a 103-101 loss at home to the New Jersey Nets last night. Things are not good in Chicago.
Jay Triano's scoring tough-guy points off Vinny Del Negro over this incident. A representative sampling of recent post titles at By the Horns and Blog a Bull: Epic Failure, Complete Embarrassment, Won't say rock bottom since there could be a ways to go, So...could VDN really be fired?, 2 more blowout losses.

I suspect the Bulls have hit rock bottom. It's almost impossible to underestimate the value of Hinrich returning. Not so much because of what Hinrich adds but simply because it will send Lindsey Hunter back to the bench. That the Bulls might trade Tyrus Thomas for someone the team will use will likely be a positive development, at least in the short term, even if it doesn't address the larger orginzational dysfunction that led them to draft Thomas rather than LaMarcus Aldridge and then appear to be profoundly frustrated that Thomas wasn't Aldridge. The aforementioned (and dazed) Vinny Del Negro could be replaced by a coach capable of unleashing Derrick Rose more effectively or just designs an offense less reliant on long two-point jumpers. Plus, the Bulls likely needn't win even half of their remaining games to make the playoffs. Not that earning the seventh- or eighth-seed will be especially satisfying, but still, it's something.

Consider this an open thread for all pre-game, in-game, and post-game (but pre-recap) thoughts.

All I wanna know now is how we can work the Collins for Gray trade.

What you got for me, Bret?
