Josh Smith | 3PTA/FGA |
2005-09 | 11.2% |
2009-10 | 0.7% |
2010-11 | 10.6% |
Smith's hot start (8-20) from beyond the arc has lifted his career 3PTFG% to 27.1%.
Smith is also making a significantly higher percentage of his long two-point jump shots so far this season.
Josh Smith | eFG% (16-23') |
2006-07 | 32.7 |
2007-08 | 30.9 |
2008-09 | 33.7 |
2009-10 | 28.7 |
2010-11 | 40.4 |
So he's both taking and making a greater percentage of his long jump shots so far this season, though not at the rate (48.3%) he was two weeks ago.
Josh Smith | %FGA (16+') | eFG% (16+') |
2006-07 | 40.3 | 34.5 |
2007-08 | 30.4 | 32.9 |
2008-09 | 30.8 | 37.4 |
2009-10 | 24.7 | 27.9 |
2010-11 | 40.7 | 45.5 |
Smith has slightly reduced the frequency of his jump shots as he's begun to regress toward his career norms.
Not coincidentally, his scoring rate has picked up and is, season-to-date, the second-highest of his career, this despite a diminished free throw rate (27.0 for his career entering the season, 20.1 so far in 2010-11). That free throw rate itself diminished despite an encouraging start (70.4 FT%) to Smith's season from the line.
Josh Smith | %FGA (at rim) | eFG% (at rim) |
2006-07 | 43 | 63.5 |
2007-08 | 42.9 | 66.3 |
2008-09 | 43 | 69 |
2009-10 | 54.3 | 65.6 |
2010-11 | 33.3 | 66.7 |
Unsurprisingly, Smith has been devastatingly effective at the rim.
How hard is it to talk about and follow the Hawks when they are this frustrating and hard to watch?
ReplyDeleteI have been a season ticket holder for 10 years now... and I just turn of the television and scalp my tickets when I see the way they are playing these days...
How do you cope with it?
I have my goals. Like getting The Hortford Treatment to catch on.
